It is Monday evening and Mom and I had a really tasty rendition of ribs, baked beans (maple flavored) and a small salad. Shadow was back in my room as we ate and he could smell every flavor. He didn't whine, but I knew he was eager for his share. I am sure he cannot understand why in the world I throw away perfectly good pork rib bones and any explanation I might care to give him would be wasted.
But I thought he might enjoy some of the rib meat and a few scoops of the baked beans mixed into his dry food. I brought his dinner bowl into the kitchen and mixed all the "good stuff" into his dish. He could hear me putting all of it together and his voice told me he would enjoy tonight's dinner.
I hooked him to his lead and came into the kitchen to collect the dinner. He almost turned back flips. He knew what was up and telegraphed his delight with a full on dinner dance. We made our way to the doggie dinner table on the back patio and I let him begin his feast. After two eager chomps, he chewed the mouthful and looked up at me with thanks. His grin seemed to say "Now THIS is what dinner is supposed to taste like. More of THIS!"
I really enjoy seeing my dog Shadow enjoy something so simple as Dinner.
